Description

There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.” (6:38) [ the Noble Qur'an ]

  • It is forbidden in Islam to treat an animal cruelly, or to kill it except as needed for food. The Prophet Muhammad often chastised his Companions who mistreated animals, and spoke to them about the need for mercy and kindness. Here are several examples of hadith which instruct Muslims about how to treat animals. Peace-Emoticon

  • Both Al-Bukhari and Muslim reported a hadith regarding a woman who locked up a cat, refusing to feed it and not releasing it so that it could feed itself. The Prophet Muhammad said that her punishment on the Day of Judgment will be torture and Hell.

  • It is related from AbdulRahman bin Abdullah that a group of Companions were once on a journey with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he left them for a while. During his absence, they saw a bird with its two young, and they took the young ones from the nest. Budgie Blob  The mother bird was circling above in the air, beating its wings in grief, when the Prophet came back. He said, "Who has hurt the feelings of this bird by taking its young? Return them to her." (Muslim) Peace to the World...

  • It is related from Abu Hurayra that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Do not use the backs of your animals as chairs. Allah has made them subject to you, so that by them you can reach places that you would not otherwise be able to reach except with great fatigue." (Abu Dawud)

  • The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)  was once performing ablution (Wudhu) for prayers from a pot of water.

cat was very thirsty, so he stopped the ablution (Wudhu) and placed the pot before the cat. Only after the cat had fully quenched its thirst, did the Prophet resume the ablution (Wudhu). kittens

  • Abu Hurayrah was a close Companion of the Prophet Muhammad and has narrated more hadiths, or sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, than any other Companion. He was known for being very sympathetic and loving towards animals so much so that although his name was `Abdur-Rahman, he was known as Abu Hurayrah :LK-love: , meaning “father of the kitten.” He was called so because of a small cat that he used to feed and care for and carry with him everywhere he went. • In two separate hadiths narrated by Abu Hurayrah (the cat-loving Companion), the Prophet told his Companions of the virtue of saving the life of a dog Puppy-love :D  by giving it water and quenching its thirst: one referred to was a man who was blessed by Allah for giving water to a thirsty dog. The other was a prostitute, who filled her shoe with water and gave it to a dog that was lolling its tongue in thirst. For this deed she was granted the ultimate reward: eternal Paradise. Several centuries before the founding of the animal rights organizations, The Prophet of Islam has called for treating animals kindly and highlighted the great reward for those who are gentle with animals and the punishment desserved for those  who abuse them on the other hand.

God orders of the Koran

2 (sura or surata): 191 (chapter) - Kill them wherever you find them and expel them from where they expelled you, because the persecution is more serious than the murder. You do not fight them in the vicinity of the Holy Mosque, unless they attack you. But if they fight against you, kill them. Such will be the punishment of unbelievers.

3:32 - Obey Allah and the Messenger. But if they refuse - then, in fact, God does not like unbelievers.

3: 151 - We will cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, because they have ascribed to God, without Him having given them any authority.

4:24 And it is forbidden for you to betrothe married women, except the {captives and slaves} which ye have by hand. Such is the law which God imposes upon you.

5:33 - For those who fight against God and against His Messenger and sow corruption on the earth, they are to be killed, or crucified, or their hand and foot to be cut off, or banished. This will be a disgrace to them in this world, and in the other they will suffer severe punishment.

5:36 - Even if the unbelievers possessed all that existed on earth and of equal worth and offered to redeem themselves from the punishment of the Day of Resurrection, they would not be accepted; they will suffer severe punishment.

5:37 - They will want to get out of the fire; but they shall never leave him, for they shall suffer an everlasting punishment.

5:38 As for the thief and the thief, cut off their hands, as a punishment of all that they have committed; is an example that emanates from God, for God is Mighty, Wise.

5:73 - Blasphemers are those who say: God is one of the Trinity, so there is no god apart from the One God. If they do not give up all that they say, a painful punishment will strike the unbelievers among them.

5:82 You will find that the worst enemies of the faithful among the humans are the Jews and the idolaters. You will find that those who are closest to the affection of the faithful are those who say: We are Christians, because they have priests and are not proud of anything.

6:70 - Away from those who take religion for play and amusement, who deceive the earthly life, and remind them that the whole being will be penitent for what to commit and will not have, besides God, protector, nor intercessor some ; and if he offer any ransom, he will not be accepted. The wicked will be put to the torment, for what they have committed, and they will have boiling water for drink, and a painful punishment for their dishonor.

7: 4 - How many cities have we destroyed? Our punishment took them (to their inhabitants) by surprise, while they slept at night, or took a nap.
9: 3 - And behold the warning of God and His Messenger to humans for the day of the great pilgrimage: God and His Messenger are not responsible (for breaking the covenant) of idolaters. But if you repent, it will be better for you; but if you refuse, know that you can not thwart God! Notice therefore to unbelievers that they will suffer a painful punishment.

9: 5 But as long as the holy months have passed, kill idolaters wherever you find them; capture them, chase them and stalk them; but if you repent, watch the prayer and pay the zakat, open the way. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

9:14 - I fight them! God will punish you by your hands, and he will make you prevail over them and heal the hearts of some of the faithful,

9:29 - I fight against those who do not believe in God and the Last Day, nor abstain from what God and His Messenger have forbidden, nor profess the true religion of those who have received the Book [Jews and Christians], until, pay Jizya.

9:34 Believers, indeed, many rabbis and monks defraud the goods of others and lead them astray from the path of God. As for those who bore gold and silver, and did not employ them in the cause of God, he proclaimed to them (O Muhammad) a painful punishment.

9:35 - In the day that all things are cast into hell fire, and their sores, their flanks, and their shoulders be stigmatized, it shall be said to them, Behold, that is what you have laid up. Try it, then!

9:73 O Prophet, fight against unbelievers and hypocrites, and be implacable to them. Hell will be your home. What a fateful fate!

9:74 - They swear by God that they have not said anything (wrongly); but they blasphemed and disbelieved after they had become Islamized. They pretended what they were unable to do, and found no other argument than that God and His Messenger enriched them from His grace. But if they repent, it will be better for them; On the contrary, if they refuse, God will punish them painfully in this world and in the other, and they will not have friends or protectors on earth.
